I found this article interesting because it talks about the affects of junk food. It says that junk food doesn't supply enough nutrition so it causes you to have less energy. As a result to low energy you become fatigued. It was also saying that since junk food has a lot of fat it can damage your liver and heart.

I found this article VERY interesting. It discusses how junk food my contribute to obesity, but that it contributes no more than health food would. It mentions how obesity is more the fault of the habits of the individual. It even mentions the Michael Moss article that we read in Humanities class. Personally, after reading this article I find "Big Foods" much less offensive.

I was able to find this article by searching up "junk food and hypertension relation."

This article talks about how junk food can lead to hypertension (high blood pressure) and type 2 diabetes. The reason why junk food may lead to these is because the processing of the foods remove many of the natural nutrients that were originally in the ingredients, magnesium being one of these nutrients. The lack of magnesium can also lead to heart attacks and osteoporosis (a disease where you bones becomes very fragile).

On Google, I searched up childhood obesity and this article really caught my attention. This article is about wanting to get kids on the move by getting them off their couches and excersizing and eating right to stay healthy. It also talks about trying to get rid of neighborhood fast food restaurants because since its so close, kids want to go there more often, causing their eating habits to be poor.

I went on google and looked up "how junk food can affect the brain." I then found this article which talks about the insulin in junk food and how if we consume too much insulin our organs actually stop responding it, including our brain. This causes memory loss and when tested on rats, behaviors of the rats looked similar to Alzheimer's disease. It's short but it's really interesting!

This article was found by typing "diabetes junk food" into the search bar of news.google.com.

This article is interesting in that it has an almost positive spin on junk-food at first, comparing the past China in poverty to the China of today. It then goes on to how westernization of diets around the globe is increasing diabetes, and ends with life expectensies.

I found this article by just typing in 'Economics of Junk Food Articles' into Google and this one caught my eye because it was about what was happening in France with Junk Food.

The article talks about how the people in France spends more time and money in Fast Food restaurants than fancy sit down restaurants. The article gives two of why that is. One is that the work schedule in France doesn't give the people enough time on their lunch break to go to a sit down restaurant, another reason is the cost it cost only 4.50 euros for a Big Mac including a drink at McDonalds compared to 13 euros for a meal at a sit down restaurant. So basically saying that time and money is a big factor in why Fast Food chain make so much business -even in France.
